Hi,

I've had a bash at doing another OpenIntents logo and any ideas for
improvements, modifications or even a complete re-work, will be
greatly appreciated.

Uploaded logo here:

Thanks in advance, i sincerely welcome your feedback.

Regards

Hi Keffyoid,

it is really great to have a good designer in the group.

Here are my thought: The "theme" of the logo doesn't reflect the
"theme" of the icons used in the application. Maybe, we don't want to
have a "childish" logo for home page of openintents.org?
When reading the slogan I'm not sure what the "one" solution is? Is it
openintents? Or Android? I would say openintents does not provide
"one" solution, but the facility to have hundred solutions
effortlessly. So I would say something more like "Reuse and Recylce -
Open Intents".

I like the idea of the i (device) with the dot (O). Maybe the O is a
bit too big.

Just my thoughs, what do other people thing?

it's nice, good work.
i wonder if it would be possible to move the phone
into the sphere and then place both texts beneath
each other. then it would be nearer to the icon we use
atm. not sure how it looks then it's done thu.
(the same old problem with all designs.
hey, now i'm the one making design complains
instead of receiving them. that's a relaxing change from
my day job *giggles*)

"reuse and recycle" we can't do that. i mean, i
guess i know what you had in mind, but it sounds to much
like "trash recycling " to me. or is this a typical german
association of meaning ?

I like the logo. At least it is much better than the current one, so I
replaced it on the homepage:

http://www.openintents.org/

I took the opportunity to update the somewhat neglected homepage, that
I'll announce in a separate thread.

Some remarks regarding the logo:
* The letters in Open and Intents have different fonts. This is
somewhat irritating. The same font - and possibliy capitalized, may be
nicer. Two different gray colors is fine.

* Yes, the O in Open looks a little bit big, but for the splash screen
that is fine.

* The mobile in Intents is a nice idea that makes immediately clear
what Intents are. In a logo, it could be a bit restrictive though, as
in the future Android may not only run on mobiles of that particular
shape, but may be found in displays on all different kinds, like
watches or the fridge (even though this will not happen soon - but one
would like to keep the flexibility ;-) )

* For the website, a small logo version would be nice. For now I just
took the crystal ball, but this may be too general, so the O and I
should be somehow in the logo. Maybe make it small enough that both
fits together, and make the O smaller compared to the I.

* Is the "O" in "One solution" big on purpose? looks strange at first
sight, but may refer to the "O" in OpenIntents.

* Yes, a better slogan may not be bad, but I can't think of any right
now. "Apps" is too computer-related. In the end, it is really not the
technicalities, but the user that counts. The user wants this or that.
He does not care if it is an application or a collection of intents
that does what he wants. It is like the phone should know what the
user wants. Something like "Lets you do what you want".. or "Get what
you want".. ok, these may also not be the best.. maybe too vague?

Ok, so far so good :-) Any comments or suggestions on my comments are
also welcome :-)
