Dear Artists,

We hope this note is finding you well.

As you know our friend Michael Berube passed away on May 15th. His family has been spending time clearing out his apartment in Inwood (upper Manhattan) and have been kind enough to allow for donation of his artwork and art supplies to friends and loved ones. Anthony and Keena are organizing a give away of available pieces with the only caveat being that you must be responsible for the transportation of any artwork you'd like to add to your collection. Most pieces are on the large side (measuring 60" x 55" and in some cases even larger) but there are a limited number of smaller paintings available as well as a number of varied works on paper. In addition there's a significant quantity of art supplies including oil and acrylic paints, loose metallic and other pigments, frames, sketch pads and canvas. We'd be remiss if we didn't mention that there's also a large collection of books that's up for grabs.

Photos of the available canvas paintings are here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1O9D40EvtCLHlYD9totkwp6_uQTH4xFqh?usp=sharing

Photos of works on paper may become available later, or we ask that you let us know if you'd like to come and take a look.

Please reach out to both Keena and Anthony if you're interested and with details on the piece you'd like to take so we can arrange a time to meet. All artwork must be removed before June 27th which is when Michael's sisters will be arriving to remove all remaining artwork from the apartment.

Location: Message us privately for details

In addition we'd like to ask that, depending on the piece you take, you make it available for a retrospective exhibition which is currently being planned.

Lastly - if you have any leads on places that accept donated large scale artwork please let us know.

Thank you and best,

Anthony and Keena

Oh no... I'm so sorry to hear this. Though I only knew him a short time, I remember him fondly. His kindness and generosity of spirit towards myself and Kirstine was touching and made a strong impression.
My deepest condolences to you, his family and the Openings Collective.
Chris

Hi,
Thank you for such a generous offer but I have to pass on it.

At the Lake George residency, I do remember seeing Michael create some of the work being offered. He was king of the porch which faced the lake.

Ty,
Norma Markley
