Hello,
If you care about open, ethical government, please send a tweet (and
get everyone you know to send a tweet) to federal Treasury Board
minister Tony Clement tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 15th (details below)
telling him that in order to meet the international Open Government
Partnership (OGP) criteria, the Conservatives OGP Action Plan must (as
the U.S. plan does) include strengthening the federal Public Servants
Disclosure Protection Act (whistleblower protection law), Access to
Information Act, Lobbying Act, Canada Elections Act, Conflict of
Interest Act and ethics codes, and other key open, ethical government
laws, to make excessive secrecy, secret and unethical lobbying, secret
donations, and conflicts of interest all illegal, and to effectively
protect whistleblowers -- see details
at:
<http://dwatch.ca/camp/RelsDec0511.html>

Tony Clement will be hosting a moderated tweet chat on Open
Government. The English tweet chat will take place on December 15
from 5:00 to 5:45 p.m. EST with a French chat occurring from 4:00 to
4:45 p.m. EST. The hashtag for the English session is #opengovchat
and #parlonsgouvert for the French session. The discussion will be
hosted on the official Treasury Board Secretariat Twitter accounts
@TBS_Canada
(English) and @SCT_Canada (French).

Whether or not you can send a tweet on Thurs., please also send a
letter to the government with this same message, and get everyone you
know to send a letter. See a sample letter (and please also send your
letter to all the politicians listed on the following webpage), at:
<http://dwatch.ca/camp/actsystem.htm>
and see how to send your letter to Clement at:

All together we can make a difference,
