Hi All,

It's been a while, hope everyone had a great summer! It's been a very
good summer for OpenHalton, as we worked with the City of Burlington
to help bring to fruition a holistic plan for an Open Data
initiative.

The Open Data Pilot launched earlier this week: http://cms.burlington.ca/Page7429.aspx
with this memo from IT Services Department to council:

As a small showcase of what's possible, I put together a Burlington
Parks Finder application using the newly released data:
http://openhalton.ca/burlingtonparks/

My hope is that more developers & enthusiasts will leverage the data
(see my post to OpenHamilton group with links to the datasets in
various formats: https://groups.google.com/group/openhamilton/browse_frm/thread/33d71b6ef0ae643f
)

It's exciting to see that Burlington seems to be quite serious about
the role of open data in driving better citizen services:
"The purpose of Open Data is to enhance transparency and
accountability and potentially service delivery."

To help support the pilot -- I'm hoping for your help and feedback.

What other datasets would YOU be interested in seeing?
Do you have any feedback, comments, and suggestions to help in shaping
Open Data Burlington?

Please share your thoughts back to the group, and also e-mail
<i...@burlington.ca> with your comments.

THANKS!!

- Nik
