I am running openhab2 build #296 (the one from July 20th).

The yahooweather binding seems to do discovery based on geoip location. Is there a way to stop it from doing that? By now, I have my location configured properly and set up a "yahooweather" object for my precise location, so the additional "thing" in my setup, and the polling thereof every minute or so, puts unnecesary load on my system.

Regards,
Hakan

Hi Hakan,

every DiscoveryService can be deactivated by a configuration setting in conf/services/runtime.cfg like:

org.eclipse.smarthome.binding.yahooweather.discovery.YahooWeatherDiscoveryService:backgroundDiscovery.enabled=false

I just tested this, but it actually does not completely prevent the discovery since it starts one discovery before being deactivated. But at least the regular polling should be stopped by it.

Regards,
Kai
