Kai,

OpenHab 1 generates chart images on the server side. The chart images are transferred to the client Classic or GreenT UI. Currently it is not possible - without major code modifications in OH1 - to transfer data only and render on the client side.
At least this is my understanding, correct me if I'm wrong!

It would be interesting to allow the user to interact with the graphs, especially to be able to zoom and pan e.g the chart on http://dygraphs.com

Is chart zooming and panning planned in OH2?

Hi Jens,

You are right, currently the charts are rendered on the server side.
I would like to extend the REST API to provide the raw data to clients, so that client-side rendering (e.g. through Javascript) can be realized.
There is already an issue for this extension: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=423547

Best regards,
Kai
