Trying to access my OpenHAB instance in the iOS app, but i'm just getting a blank page - no error message.  I can access it via the browser without a problem.

What am I not doing right?

Hi,

That's a good question. There should be some notifications on the bottom of the screen when the app is starting. At least it should tell you if it is connecting to local or remote URL. Do you see anything?

Best regards,
Victor Belov

Yes.  It says "connecting to local" - but never goes to "connecting to remote"

Did you upgrade from the previous version? As the new app is a complete rewrite, the old settings seem to get lost and you will have to enter them again (correct me, if I am wrong, Victor).
If you have entered all settings, please post the url that you are using here.

Regards,
Kai

Hi,

yep, that's true and I beg my pardon I didn't include it into the release notes :-(

Hi David,

Did you enter the OPENHAB URL in the settings like this: http://<ip address or host>:<port>
I just tried without the http and the port and got the same message as you. The connection succeeded with the right url.

Regards,
David

Hi

I have the same problem. openHAB is running on my laptop. URL is http://localhost:8080/openhab.app?sitemap=demo when accessing from the localhost browser, works. Accessing via url: http://192.168.1.201:8080/openhab.app?sitemap=demo# in either Local or Remote URL in the ios app settings does not work. Local says it is connecting, but nothing happens. Remote i get an NSURLERROR -1012. Trying the exact same url from the browser on my ios device it works.

Best regards
Kim

As a local/remote url in the iOS app, you should only name the server, i.e. http://192.168.1.201:8080
This should work.

Hi Kai

Thanks for the answer. I tried to put in the url you proposed, http://192.168.1.201:8080. Entering this in the Local url setting returns a notification saying "request failed. Internal server error(500)". The demo is working like expected ind the iphone browser. I have also tried to put in a new default configuration.

Best regards
Kim

Having the same problem as Kim here. I just setup a new OpenHAB install on my FreeNAS system. I've successfully loaded the latest OpenHAB build, placed the Demo files for testing, and am able to access the Demo instance in my browser. After successfully testing this, I've opened up the Mobile iOS app and tried to connect. I've turned off Demo mode in settings, and entered in my local host URL (http://192.168.1.204:8080) and am getting "Request Failed: not found (400)". When I put the full URL as in the browser (http://192.168.1.204:8080/openhab.app?sitemap=demo) I get the "Request filed: Internal server error (500)" per the op above message.

Any help anyone can lend in which direction I might be able to maybe find some error logs or information to help me identify what is going wrong here?
