openHAB and Paradox Integration

Anyone have experience with a way to integrate openHAB and Paradox security system (http://www.paradox.com/) ?

Sometime over the next few months I will port my Paradox EVO Alarm panel code over to openHAB.

I'm tied up at the moment, but it's in my queue to do it. I have an older DGP-848 in my house but it's core to the automation in my existing HA system (a Vera) so I'm bridging that whole system first.

Note that Paradox only provides the needed bits for their EVO and Digiplex (DGP) alarm panels. Ther other panels (Spectra, Magellan etc) don't have the necessary interface.

Not yet.  Still working on the first item, which is the MiOS/Vera binding.  That PR is in, and has been reviewed, so once it's cleared the process I will work on the Paradox.  It took me a lot longer than I'd planned to get it polished up ready for that review process.

In the meantime, I did swap out my Paradox Digiplex (DGP-848) Panel for a new EVO-192, and have built up a complete parallel bit of Paradox alarm kit so I don't need to do the development "live" against the household Panel.  That should speed things up when I'm working on that, since I won't have to worry about tripping the alarm (etc)

Hey Valdemaras,

Sorry, just haven't had the cycles to work on the Paradox Binding.  

I had a sudden uptake of the MiOS Binding at the end of last yr, and then switched gears to work out how best to author [stable, maintainable] openHAB Rules against the new-found data it provided.... which, as it's turning out, is far more elaborate than I'd originally thought.

I don't know how long that will take to get sorted, since it seems like a never-ending series of Rule usage gotcha's, Item data resets & Persistence stores not storing all data-types - each requiring debugging and research.

I still have the hardware, but it's going to sit on the shelf until these [practical] Rule authoring issues are ironed out.  If there's another Dev (in the US) then I can ship them the gear in order to author it, if that'll get the work completed faster.

It would be a separate, free-standing, openHAB Binding.  I currently get my Paradox Alarm data via the [openHAB] MiOS Binding, but that's only because I wrote the [MiOS] Plugin for that Alarm System... and it's intrinsic to a large chunk of my overall HA.
