ODroid U3 users - which version of java and Linux for OpenHAB?

I got my Odroid U3.  About to move my OpenHAB over to it, and but not really looking forward to using a new Linux version.  Before I head down towards some weird path, I'd like to know what version of Linux to use.  So, Odroid users, which version of Linux are you using, and which version of Java?  Any roadblocks you want to warn me about would be appreciated!

I use Debian , but have also run Ubuntu and even Arch Linux on mine.   Makes no difference when running openhab, I would choose the distro you are most comfortable with.
