So I'm pretty sure this would require an actual app vs just a binding, but has anyone given thought to the possibility of further extending the use of the Xbox and it's Kinect features? I for one, have just switched to using the Xbox as the controller for the TV, DISH, and Onkyo Receiver. Instead of programming a scene in OpenHAB, I can just say Xbox on, Watch TV, and it's all done for me. I mainly just switched as Plex (my media hub of choice) now has an app. It got me to thinking, what if OpenHAB had an app that could allow us to launch scripts and control things through voice input. It would potentially be a bit light or boring to look at after that, but I know some people have talked about hacking the Kinect hardware at least to do some of the same thing when walking around in different areas of the house. Just thinking out loud on this one to see if anyone has further thought on it as well.

Ok, so I have another thought I'm curious to pose, the ability to interact with the Xbox SmartGlass app to send commands? This would be beneficial to do things like send the power on command, or to use the remote input to control the TV service, etc. I'm thinking here about an ability to send a power on command to the Xbox, go to the Plex App, and in turn set a few OpenHAB light settings for the perfect movie mood. Anyone have a potential need/want for something like this as well?

Bit of an old topic,

I just got an Xbox One with Plex to replace a PS3 and a separate Kodi device.
Since there is a Plex binding now, it should be possible to start a scene when you are playing something with Plex.

But there are more media apps on the Xbox One, like Netflix and I would also like OpenHAB to know if I'm playing a game. So yes, an OpenHAB app on the Xbox One would be nice.
The smartglass apps have access to this data, but the API isn't open / documented as far as I know.
As a Microsoft developer I will have a look a the new Windows 10 Univeral apps, which should be able to run on an Xbox One. But I have no clue in how to get the app on the Xbox / in the store and what data is available from the Xbox API.

If I manage to get anything usefull I'll put it on Github.

Greetings,
Leon
