Integer.parseInt(someString) doesn't work in openhab

I have included import java.lang.* in the openhab rules files. Why doesn't this work when i use it inside my rules. Isn't every thing that works in Java has to work here?

Things that work in Xtend are supposed to work here - so have a try with Integer::parseInt("10“)
