If it sounds that difficult, I wouldn't mind paying extra to have mine put together. I think the difference was $5 on the KS but I would pay $10 if that would help. I would rather have a working one than one I screw up!

The question was, how do you know who wants nickel plated and who don't?

Because the international backers have added their guess for shipping cost. So you cant see if their guess is low and they want plated, or that their guess is high and the don't want plated.

Also do you know final shipping cost already?

sorry missed the question,
everyone is getting nickel plated we decided that because it was to
difficult to set up paining or nickel plating as corrosion protection.
sorry if that is a bid unfair
international shipping is only 5usd, if too many packages get lost we
would have to switch to a more expensive shipper like UPS

the end of the day, he is in charge of keeping track of who gets
what....
sorry for being a little unresponsive at times, its pretty hectic here

sure thing,
fully assembled is plug play, eg you need to supply power and signal,
and come with R10 bracket or standoff
the kit is self assembled and you can check out the instructions at
https://code.google.com/p/opengrab/wiki/Assembly (they will change
slightly)
the difference is 5usd
we prefer bitcoin as payment but also take paypal, there are a about
20 or so backers that need there total adjusted some up and some down
