The 180th Chi Hack Night is Tuesday, November 3rd at 6pm. RSVP here!

Continuing on our education theme from last week, we have a special presentation on using public records and data for investigative journalism.

Sarah Karp, Senior Investigator for the Better Government Association, will talk about her work investigating private companies that do work with Chicago Public Schools and breaking the Barbara Byrd-Bennett / Supes Academy corruption story in 2013.

Karp will also talk about another investigation with WBEZ’ Becky Vevea that uncovered rampant cheating in the Chicago Public Schools graduation rate.

Leadership Council #18

We will have our 18th Chi Hack Night Leadership Council at 8pm after the group breakouts get started. This meeting is for discussing new ideas and ways to make the hack night better. Anyone is welcome to join!

If you’d like to bring up a topic, add it to the Leadership Council agenda.
