Hi all,

Jack’s message reminded me that I’d been meaning to send out a word of thanks to everyone on this list who submitted a workshop or a presentation proposal to FOSS4G 2017.

So, officially, thank you for submitting! We had a record number of submissions in both categories. The bad news is that we had to reject about half of the workshops (we accepted just over 50 out of 96!) and that we will have to do the same for presentations. As a reviewer on both the workshops and program committees, I can tell you that some of the cuts were/will be heart-breaking. Check out this blog post on our process from our local organizing committee co-chair: http://2017.foss4g.org/blog/

The good news is that we expect the conference to be fantastic.

A couple of important dates:
May 1: accepted presentations will be announced
May 16: early-bird registration ends

Don’t wait too late, particularly if you want to also attend jsGeo (http://jsgeo.com/) or the welcoming social at the Harpoon brewery, which have limited seats.

Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have about the conference.

We hope to see you in Boston!

-Chris
