i ish just been hella busy, got my self an internship!!
lol! likewise
Still here.
But to get some progress wouldn’t we first need to make some decisions clear? As they never really where actually decided during meetings?
so:
Team name: OpenFur
OS name: ????
Base OS: Ubuntu
Desktop: GNOME3?
So, are we indeed going to use GNOME3, and if so what will the OS itself be called?
And I think we need it to be more clear who does what.
So:
Shnatsel – said he could do some optimization, which would be important, so it would be a good idea if he would make sure that happens.
I myself could do the website and anything server related.
And what others can/want to do I’m not actually sure of since we never made any form of list with who does what.
~Foxofinfinety.
And I not agree to make distro that use GNOME3, because it sucks.
I agree with shnatsel, GNOME3 is a good desktop.
However, if you used Unity, then yes, that sucks.
Little example:
Unity’s compatibility with older hardware is rather bad, I have a computer with a AMD Athlon XP 1500+ and 749MB RAM with a ATI Radeon 9600.
And Unity won’t run on it, GNOME3, does, and quite good even (could use a bit more RAM but…).
Besides that we work as a team, which does mean we need to make compromises sometimes.
I personally prefer using KDE, and would have preferred to use that, but, assuming the majority of the team doesn’t want to use KDE, I think GNOME3 would be the best option them.
Yet, I do then want the option to shutdown directly from the desktop, in Fedora (which I use on the Athlon XP machine) you need to logout and only then you can shutdown….
That is quite irritating.

I personally think kde or xfce would be much better choose than gnome3.
