SDn & OpenFlow HELP..!!

Hello All,

I am NEWBIE in SDN & OpenFlow areas. I have Huawei switches (S5700 series) in my company and wish to demonstrate SDN in my company both towards having CapEx & OpEx benefits as I came to know through some papers. I am thinking to perform below tasks to KICK START  -

1. OpenFlow LAN Implementation: An Implementation to control LAN.
2. A standard API for network provisioning (i.e. orchestration) for the data center.

But, NOT sure how to proceed. I need HELP in knowing following things -

1. What has to be done?
2. How should I proceed?

Also, looking for doing something towards TRAFFIC ENGINEERING.

I know my understanding in POOR but willing to discuss here to make it streamlined. I am OK with Python/C++/Erlang coding on Linux (Ubuntu-v14.01).
