How easy (or difficult) is it to move from an older Huzzah ESP8266 to an Olimex ESP32-gateway?
The location where my EVSE is, has spotty Wi-Fi coverage (here the idiot build it inside a metal case).
Because I have a network switch really close to the location, I thought to make it cabled.

I can find the Olimex board on Amazon for €42

or directly from Olimex for €35 base version, or €39 the EA-IND

Now, must I care about something special? I see 4 wires go from the esp32-gateway to the controller in the same way the 8266 do.

Are there hardware revisions I must avoid? Minimum software versions? Is there a guide to changing one for the other?

Last question, is there a discord server?

Best regards
Nuno

Some followup here

I received the Olimex esp32-gateway, it's a G revision.
My evse controller is a V5.

After some trouble installing FW 4.2.2 because there are no bootloader and partitions files, I installed 4.1.7 and upgraded to 4.2.2 in the web interface.
It's working.
