Anyone around familiar with the "right" way to wire things up?

Just curious,

Is there anyone around with enough OpenEmulator experience to provide style/taste-level advice on an OpenEmulator config xml setup? I've reached the point where I'm capable of getting things working, but there is so much configurability and so many ways to do the same thing, that I'm never quite sure if I'm taking the approach most consistent with the philosophy of the existing components.
