If You're Not First You Are Last is a motivational book written by Sage Guidance. In case you haven't read it yet, You're Not First You're Last is the third book of the series and it continues where the previous two books left off. I enjoyed the characterizations and the story told within this novel. The story in This One Is Different was not as deep as the others in the series but it still was a good read.

In the third book, "You're Not First You're Last", the series picks up right after the events of the first novel, "You're Weighing It". Several years have passed since Sage Guidance took on her persona of First Aid Girl and became first aid to an accident victim who tried to save her life. Now that she has retired from this line of work, things seem to be falling into place and things seem to be going just fine for Sage and Kaylee. One problem, however, has arisen when their friendship has taken a turn for the worse. They both believe that they should be first before anything else and now they must decide what to do about their friendship.
While I liked the characterizations within this book, I felt that some of the circumstances were a bit too contrived. It was obvious that the author had a bit of wishful thinking (and even paid money for it) when writing this novel. But then again, the book didn't have the same depth as the others in the series and that was really disappointing to me. I would have loved to have seen more conflict within the relationship between Kaylee and Sage. There are a few romance characters that I feel are well done (especially Rachel Denning's character) but other than that this book isn't a masterpiece, but it is still a very entertaining read.
