Hi All,

We at OpenElections are very pleased to share our new site with you at http://openelections.net. Going forward, this is where you can keep track of our progress: finishing results metadata work; and scraping, processing and making available results data for each state. A new feature on the home page to show the data acquisition progress is coming soon.

A big thank you to all the volunteers who have brought us this far - especially to Chloe Whiteacre and Margie Roswell for their help at our NICAR Hackathon getting the public-facing site off the ground!

We have a great core group of most excellent development volunteers helping us to write custom scrapers of each state. They got us started on this at the Hackathon, but we are looking for more Python devs to join in on this effort. This is the nitty gritty of the project - the really interesting work. So, if you are fairly proficient with Python, are interested in getting involved, and have some time to work on (or share work on) a state, contact me at sschnadt...@gmail.com to get started. You can also learn more about this work here.

My best,

Sara
