I am FirstName LastName, a Presales Technical Consultant at Company Name, one of the leading software development firms in the region, with offices and engagements all over the globe. We provide solutions based on Open Source technologies in Europe (specifically Italy), Middle East and Egypt. We have a team of Open Source experts with 10 years’ experience in Open Source implementations.
The reason I am sending OpenEgypt this message is that we are currently considering an opportunity that has been announced by ITIDA lately for the development and content preparation and management of EgyptFOSS platform, an online platform that will act as a knowledge hub, a collaboration network and a FOSS marketplace that shall be accessed by different target audience, I am sure you are aware of it. EgyptFOSS platform will be under the supervision of SECC (Software Engineering Competence Center). The objective of the platform is to promote for Open Source in Egypt and connect the nodes of Egypt’s FOSS eco system. Since we seek perfection in everything we build, we want to partnership with the right people and entities for the creation and development of the content as well as operating and maintaining the platform for the next 3 years.
We are looking forward to build a platform that will serve Open Source activists and stakeholders and spread the Open Source Philosophy, that’s why the platform content should be developed and maintained by true Open Source Believers who have full understanding of the Open Source eco system in Egypt. Therefore reaching out to you was a normal action to make. We are wondering if it’s possible to collaborate together. It would be a pleasure if we can get the chance to talk to you further about the opportunity and see what are the possibilities of collaboration.
It’s worth mentioning, that we have been lately awarded EgyptInnovate platform development and content management project by TIEC (Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center), an online platform that’s pretty similar to EgyptFOSS, however, it serves young Egyptian Entrepreneurs and Innovators and bridges the gap between these bright young minds and investors and industries. The platform is currently under construction and is being developed using Drupal Open Source CMS by our development team.

I would vote for "trying them". Better than current state of "nothing".
