Hi everyone, is there anyway to install openedx insights on the same virtual machine as edx-platform? As I understand it, analytics-api and the pipeline are supposed to run on Hadoop – Hive cluster, or using Amazon’s Elastic map reduce services. Is there any way I can run them locally (for development purposes) or on Google Cloud (for production?) Any help is appreciated

Hello Yafet,Yes, you can install edX Insight/Analytics/Pipeline on the same Ubuntu Server 16.04 box where Open edX LMS/CMS is running. That is exactly how I am running it for Hawthorn.master (on a VMware guest). The installation steps are quite similar to what is described in the official documentation but not the same.e.g., before installing Insights, change xqueue port 18040 to something else (e.g. 18044) otherwise yarn nodemanager will collide with the former service.I need to dig into my gmail to find the exact instruction notes, which I sent to someone back in June,if I find them, I could send them to you, if needed.Best, L
