[opendpi] about algorithm

hello everyone, i'm a new one to learn the opendpi.
i have read the source of opendpi-1.2.0 some hours, but i don't find any algorithm about pattern matching.
and i think the software just keep the informations about each packet by opendpi-manual.for example:
