Hi all,
I've just created a DCP with the most recent version of opendcp (0.30):
- exported uncompressed TIFFs from the latest version of Premiere (Cc
2014, Dec)
- used openDCP to convert to JPEG2000 (sRGB, not the complex one)
Played it back with various DCP players (Neo, Doremi, DCPplayer, ...)
and they all show crushed blacks. Not much but just a bit (too much).
I did all colour grading in Premiere and I have a calibrated monitor
under Windows (Huey). So, gamma should be 2.2 (if no dirty tricks have
been applied anywhere).
Is that right? I guess I've colour graded on the basis of the "complex"
colour profile actually because the only application of gamma happens
via the monitor reaching my eyes essentially. Otherwise Premiere hasn't
converted anything when exporting it to TIFF? So I should use the
"complex sRGB" I guess?
Best
/Bernd
P.S.: perhaps better you call "sRGB" "simple sRGB" just preventing
people like me nothing has changed from previous versions. Anyway it
kept me busy for this Sat... ;)
