OpenDCP Use Survey

Hey Everyone,

I'm trying to compile a list of DCPs created with OpenDCP that have been submitted to Film Festivals or been theatrically shown. If you have, I'd appreciated hearing from you. Include your name, feature name, film festival, if it won any awards, and the date. Thanks!

Hi Terrence.

They are about 50 feature films here and most of them have been to more than one festival. It would be very hard to make such a list and I don´t keep a record of what festivals they go to. I can tell you they have been to most of them, cannes, venice, berlin, shangai, buenos aires... You can see a partial list here on my web page (it is a bit outdated) http://perifericacine.com/test/

Would It help if I make a small list (maybe 10 films) that went to big festivals?

It seems to me that even when an indie director or producer could make their own dcps, when they are selected for an important festival, they prefer to pay someone with more experience, even if the tools to be used are the same.

Hmm - same situation here. I've done approx 150 shorts and features through OpenDCP over past 5 years. Incomplete and out of date list here http://www.sv2dcp.com/credits/ which I can update for you as I need to update it for my own reason but i don't have a festival list for each film though I think I remember for most all films if they were festival, theatrical or both. I probably have had DCPs screen in upwards of 500 fests and same number or more of total theatrical screenings. Of course many of these are very small, so some guidance of what level of detail you are looking for would help.
