recent OpenDataPhilly updates - June 2024

OpenDataPhilly community,

Below is a brief summary of changes that have been made in the OpenDataPhilly catalog over the past month:

Adding moderation to this mailing list: Your email spam-catcher may have enabled you to avoid this, but we have had three instances of multiple spam messages from new subscribers. I've deleted the messages and blocked the senders, but I've changed the configuration of the mailing list to require all new messages to be moderated. This will slow down future messages, but I think it's better than enduring spam.

Updated data sets - the following data sets have recently been updated:

• Philadelphia Neighborhoods - https://opendataphilly.org/datasets/philadelphia-neighborhoods/ - there is both some updated data and couple of new formats: GeoParquet and GeoPackage
• Historic Base Zoning Districts - https://opendataphilly.org/datasets/historic-philadelphia-zoning/ - City made a major revision of the zoning code and base maps in 2012; we had a request for some historic versions of the City's zoning base map.
  

New data sets and applications

• Boost Your Business program -  https://opendataphilly.org/datasets/boost_business/  - a new fund from the Philadelphia Dept of Commerce for diverse entrepreneurs to scale their businesses
• Bus Shelters -  https://opendataphilly.org/datasets/bus-shelters/ - a geospatial dataset that identifies locations of transit shelters installed and maintained by the City of Philadelphia, in partnership with Intersection Media
