Real Estate Transfers Data Updating

Hello all,

Is anyone aware of the status of the Real Estate Transfers dataset? From both the download and the city visualization (https://data.phila.gov/visualizations/real-estate-transfers) it seems like updates almost completely stopped around mid-November 2024, save for one record in December.

Hi Joe. I'm not sure of the update cadence for this data set, but the Department of Records is always 1-2 months behind on recording new documents (and the RTT tax database is driven by the recording of the deed by DoR). For example, right now the "proof date" (the date on which the deed recording is complete) is currently Jan 27, even though today is Feb 27.

If you are interested in individual documents, you can use the Philadox application: https://opendataphilly.org/datasets/philadox-property-documents/ which lists the current proof date.

You could also reach out to the contact person listed on the RTT dataset or reach out to philadox...@phila.gov.
