Hi All,

I have bee asked for examples of applications that have been produced
off the back of Greater Manchester Open Data and am compiling a list.

If you know of any please put them down.

http://gmbuses.heroku.com/ - Ben Gibbs Bus Timetable App

http://bmbr.co/nextbus - David Bamber Bus Route and Timetable App

http://www.mapnificent.net/manchester/ Stefan Wehrmeyer - Isochronic
Transport Time Mapping App

http://traffordopendata.heroku.com/ - Ben Gibbs Facilities and
infrastructure within Trafford

There are of course others

Cheers

Julian

there's all the stuff based on openly local - which is (somewhat)
national because of the aggregation, rather than release in of itself.

Equally, all the apps built on Plings (http://www.plings.net/about/apps) will have involved data from Greater Manchester authorities at some point .... you could cite that these were coordinated from Manchester!

Hello,

I have built http://busfinder.dyndns.org on top of the gmpte data and
the bus stops data from data.gov.uk. You can click on bus stops, see
which routes go through them and then view the route on the map.
Would be great to consolidate all these apps in to a 'killer' one.

Cheers,

Ian

I've been working on extensions to the Molly Project
(http://mollyproject.org, which is an open source mobile portal
framework) which displays time and location sensitive information from
the timetable data (as well as other open data sets like
OpenStreetMap, etc...), there's some stuff here:
http://demo.mollyproject.org/transport/

I'm planning on building a mobile web app based on the framework for
Greater Manchester with specific customisations etc (I currently work
for Oxford Uni but am moving to Manchester in a few months)

Hi Chris,

What was the address of the Manchester Molly transport app you developed?

Cheers

Hi Julian,

It's not live yet, but I've bought "mancunia.mobi" to host it at, but
the code like the ATCO-CIF importer is in the Molly core
(https://github.com/mollyproject/mollyproject/blob/master/molly/apps/places/providers/atcocif.py)
and that's currently visible on the Molly demo site at
http://demo.mollyproject.org/transport/
