Hi everyone,
The TfGM GIS team has updated and shared their published transport and cycling data on time for the CycleHack weekend which is great.
It is in general a very useful resource to have, so please explore the links and feel free to share it with everyone for your research, projects and campaigns. The cycling team made a few really interesting suggestions how we could use it (see email below).
See you soon!
Gabi

Some ideas of how the data could be used to tackle cycling barriers is as follows:
1. Promote safe cycle routes using the following data:
· Cycle Routes
· Accidents
· Air quality
2. App
a) To capture recommended/quiet cycle routes
b) Ability for user feedback on TfGM cycle maps, for example error correction
c) To request infrastructure
3. Analyse car park space data
· Show they fill up
· Promote cycling instead – cycle parking data
4. Enlarged Manchester City Centre map
· Showing detailed routes/parking
· Experiment with alternative map style
