Users have complained that the current version of wxPython can't be installed on Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan.
Following standard procedures such as this:
result in an error when mounting the .dmg and running the .pkg:
“wxPython3.0-osx-cocoa-py2.7.pkg” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should eject the disk image.
This seems to be a known bug, which is documented here:

Although I don't currently have access to Mac OS 10.11, there seems to be a workaround described here:
