Hi OpenCV Team,

I'm Zohaib Altaf, a 3rd-year Computer Engineering student at COMSATS University Islamabad. I'm reaching out to express my interest in contributing to OpenCV for GSoC 2026.

I've built a real-time shape recognition system using Python and OpenCV — implementing contour detection, shape classification, and a live video feed pipeline. I also have hands-on ML experience through a crop forecasting system, and C/C++ background from embedded systems work.

Beyond code, I interned at SECP (Pakistan's financial regulator) on AI-driven digital transformation, and I currently lead IEEE RAS as Chairperson at my university.

I've reviewed the 2026 project ideas and I'm particularly interested in the computer vision and AI-based pipeline projects. I'd love to connect early, ask questions, and start making contributions before the proposal deadline.

Is there a preferred channel to discuss project ideas with mentors?
