GSoC: Acceptance Test Infrastructure Query

Hi,

I hope you’re doing well. My name is Aditi Saini, and I am currently pursuing B.Tech at HBTU Kanpur.

I recently went through the project “Improve Acceptance Test Infrastructure” and found it really interesting, especially the focus on reducing test flakiness and improving CI stability.

I have recently started working on Oppia and exploring the codebase, and I’m particularly interested in areas like debugging, testing workflows, and improving developer experience. The migration from Puppeteer to Playwright and handling persistent flakes sounds like a great learning opportunity for me.

I have a few questions regarding the project:

• While migrating to Playwright, are there any specific challenges in the current Puppeteer setup that I should focus on understanding first?

• For fixing flaky tests, is there any recommended debugging workflow or documentation that I should follow before starting?

• How should contributors prioritize infrastructure issues vs flaky test fixes during the project?

Also, I’ve just submitted my initial proposal and would really appreciate any feedback or suggestions to improve it.
