Dear OpenCV Mentors and Community,

My name is Aditya Raj, a 2nd-year ECE student from RIT Roorkee. I am writing to introduce myself as an aspiring contributor for GSoC 2026.

I have been using OpenCV extensively in my embedded-AI projects, most notably:

  • EyeOnDriver (ADAR): A driver drowsiness detection system using OpenCV, MediaPipe, and ESP32 for real-time fatigue monitoring.

  • Hand Gesture Robot: A robotic control system based on computer vision and gesture recognition.

I am particularly interested in optimizing OpenCV for edge devices (like ESP32/Raspberry Pi) and improving the Python bindings, as these are the tools I use daily.

Current Status:

  1. I have successfully read the contribution guidelines.

  2. I have compiled and built the OpenCV library locally on my machine.

  3. I am now looking for a "Good First Issue" to start my contribution journey.

Could you please point me toward any active modules or issues—specifically related to Video I/O or Python Bindings—where a new contributor could be helpful?

Thank you for your time and guidance.

Best regards,
Aditya Raj
