Dear all,

This is just to let you know that a new OpenCOR snapshot and docker container have been released.

This snapshot addresses the following issues:

  • General: fixed an issue with the splash screen blocking screen real estate during OpenCOR boot up (see issue #2816).

  • Graph Panel widget: addressed various user experience related issues (see issue #2815).

Please, test this snapshot thoroughly (especially with regards to the second issue) and report any issue that you might have with it.

Everything going well, this snapshot will become version 0.8 of OpenCOR. Version 0.8 will be the final version of OpenCOR as we know it, i.e. a Qt-based application with Python support tightly linked to OpenCOR.

Going forward:

  • OpenCOR's backend is to be moved to libOpenCOR, which is a pure C++ library with both JavaScript and Python bindings. For Python, this means that you will be able to install libOpenCOR pip install libopencor (once it will be available on PyPi).

  • OpenCOR's frontend is to be rewritten using Web-based technologies. This will allow us to run OpenCOR as both a Web app and as a (traditional) desktop application.

Best regards, Alan.
