In case you are interested, I ran my old standby simplistic heat transfer program
(it iteratively replaces the value in each cell by the average of those around it)
by dividing the square grid into 4 parts and using 4 images in my 4-processor
system. So things are looking good.

 For 4-image solution,  time =           71  seconds

Number of iterations (4 images):       32736

 For 1-image solution,  time =          220  seconds

Number of iterations (1 image):       32808

 Max difference between methods:   1.12366974E-02

Does anybody know how to install WSL/Ubuntu in a nondefault directory?
When I click the GET button at the MS Store, it goes way down some long path.
MS support claims they don't support it.

Hi Walt,

Does this mean that the problem you reported earlier has been resoled?  If not, please submit an issue at https://github.com/sourceryinstitute/opencoarrays/issues.

No, I was just feeling frustrated.
Turns out that with a few tries (and errors), I figured it out and all is working OK as far as I know now.
Thanks.
