Dear All,

If you are like me, you know that there is important information missing, even when as I (try to) keep up with the Town website, the Board of Selectmen meetings, Cape Cod Chronicle, etc.

Please tell us (this email-group) something that you know (or think you know) about which the people of Chatham (or some of them) would be interested ... if they only knew.

Ideally, your posting would be no more than 3 short paragraphs, along with a link to a website that provides some background to what you are saying.

Please remember that this a moderated discussion, akin to "Letters-to-the-Editor".  I get to review your message before I approve it for posting, so I advise you to make it something that you will think that people will see as valuable information (i.e., not just an opinion that you want to share with people).

I do have extensive experience in creating and growing email-group discussions (even before the World Wide Web existed).  Twenty years ago, I set up and moderated an email-group (like this one) about V.P. Al Gore's initiative for "reinventing government" that grew to over 1,000 people.  In 1997, I set up the very first web-forum used by the U.S. government for the public to comment on a federally proposed project (i.e., the permanent closure of Penn. Ave. adjacent to the White House.)

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by email or phone.  You may also forward this email as you see fit.

sincerely,

P.S. If you want to receceive email from OpenChatham, you do NOT need a Google account.  Just send a blank email-message to: openchatha...@googlegroups.com
And it's just as easy to leave the group.  Every single message that you receive will contain a similar instruction about how to "un-subscribe".
