Hi Ron,
I am cc:ing Jack for making this a public comment at today's meeting (hopefully):
I just read in today's Cape Cod Times about the creation of a task force force for "reopening" Cape Cod.
However, rather than being a creation of county government, it apparently is a creation of, primarily, state legislators along with the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce (which is a non-governmental organization).
I have included an excerpt, below, that quotes County Administrator Jack Yunits and also indicates the lesser role of the county government in the "task force".
I am wondering, under what official authority, are state legislators allowed to create an official organization or public body that appears to preempt the authority of Barnstable County government.
Thanks for your consideration and response.
sincerely,
Steve Buckley

"The task force is a great idea," Barnstable County Administrator John "Jack" Yunits Jr. said. "If we don't have continuity and consistency of message and have a hodgepodge of reopening strategies across the Cape, then it could lead to confusion, chaos and taking unnecessary safety risks."
The county had announced its own task force last week, but the intention was to have it be part of this group, Yunits said.
