I’m putting together an RFP for our campaign/Form 700 filing software (we currently use Netfile).  I want to add a provision that it can export raw data for syncing to Open Disclosure.  Do you know exactly what I should put in the RFP to make sure we would be able to export the data?

Hi Toni,

As a developer, I have never written an RFP, so I don't know exactly what the language looks like, but one thought comes to mind.

The most useful thing for importing data into a site like OpenDisclosure is to have an easy way to download a CSV of a particular form's data. By "easily" I mean that the URL to the file should not change as new data is added, and neither should the structure of the data in the file.

Netfile set up a secret way for us to do that for Oakland data, and it has been invaluable in simplifying our data extraction.

Hopefully this helps! Does anyone else have any thoughts on important things to request?

Does anything come to mind from when you met with the Netfile folks when their contract with the city (last year?) was coming due to ask for features?
