Error message: DANGER WILL ROBINSON: FEN SET IN cpu_fork!

After a crash and reboot, my mailserver spat multiples of this error
into /var/log/messages:

Jul 21 11:49:06 pat /bsd: DANGER WILL ROBINSON: FEN SET IN cpu_fork!
It is an OpenBSD 3.2 system running on a Digital AlphaPC 164LX 533
MHz.
The main processes that run on this system are qmail and perl.
Does anyone know about this error? I can find references to it
occurring under NetBSD, but not OpenBSD. Has some "dodgy" code jumped
over from NetBSD?
Any help or enlightenment greatly appreciated
