Hi Jennifer, in order for the link to appear the Open Library record must have the Amazon ID. If it does not have a number, no link will appear.

For example, the following book did not have an Amazon ID.

In Open Library, I found the Amazon Record ID by clicking on the Amazon link under "BUY".

The number is 015603029. Click Edit on the Open Library page. Click "Amazon" under ID Numbers. Enter the Number. Click Save.

The link uses the Open Library affiliate Id, a small benefit for their non-for-profit organization.

OpenBook does not currently create Amazon URLs for other affiliate IDs but you can make it work by inserting the html for the link with your particular affiliate ID into the template you choose.

E.g., <a href=" http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0156030209?tag=yourID>Amazon</a>

Hope that helps.

John

Hi,

I've added the shortcode for a link to Amazon in the options of template 1, and the link does not appear. <span class="openbook_links1">[OB_LINK_AMAZON]</span>

I would like to have a link to my Amazon affiliate link. Where would I add that in the template?

Thanks,
Jennifer
