Strange layout issues with Templates 1,2,4,5

Hello All,

I'm not a programmer, but a pretend to be one for my boyfriend. ;-)

I'm comfortable with the GUI and basic HTML interface for OL/OB...but
what I'm have an issue with is a huge amount of dead-space before the
first item when I use templates 1,2,4,5.

This page shows Template 3 in use for the first item, then Template1

This page shows Template 1 for all listings: http://bantyhenpublishing.com/home/?page_id=113

What I am missing in the settings?

Oh, and does the OL/OB formatting effect the double-spacing of my
content or is that another setting that I need to find to change?

I really appreciate any guidance on this...
