Hi,
Over the last weeks my company has been looking for a robust metadata-driven web development framework to develop our next versions of the company's application software. We first met MDDA-based apps a few year ago when we adopted MS-CRM and it rapidly became an "xRM" that drived a lot of internal company developments. When MS launched LightSwitch, I believed that MDDA was arriving to redistributable or SaaS development but, coming from Microsoft, it was quickly evident it is simply impossible. Almost all in LightSwitch is propietary/closed code.
Among the huge assort of web-development tools and frameworks all over the net, OpenBiz catched my attention for the wide aproach it seems to have toward business applications and mature user interface appeareance, along with some promising architectural "gems" like XML-based metadata entiry definitions, portable and non-propietary technology bases and MVC-based architecture.
However, after the initial contact with your site at OpenBiz.me, I´ve found hard to obtain additional documentaton, sample code or even an established users communitty where one could dock at for suport and help. Even, when I started to dig deeper on the search for documentation, I started to get a great amount of docs written in chinese, even when the site says the company was found in the USA. (it´s not a matter in nations, even if I can read and write english, I´m nearly dumb at chinese)
The most user participating site resulted to be this google user group. Even here, I can´t see a high activity. So, Is the project alive ? Are people still coding and/or maintaining this promising project ? Where I can find technical (architectural) informaton in english ?
The answers yo were able to provide are very important to us in order to continue considering OpenBiz as an alternative in our developing plans for our future applications.
Thanks !!!
Alberto
