What would You say for setting up a bugs/features tracker for the
project? I know at least one, very good open source tool REDMINE -
http://www.redmine.org/. I`ve been using it for a year or more and it
works fine. It is really helpful:
- one can submit any proposal for new features, enhancements etc, so
that no idea will miss meanwhile,
- it is clear who works on what,
- it is easy to submit and manage bugs,
- there is a higher probability that someone will do someting from the
list:)
- many other minor features that the tool provides
I know that by now there might be no need for such a thing, but I
think that in the long run it`ll be harder and harder (assuming that
the project will grow significantly bigger) to control what`s going
on.
I can cope with that, I`ll gonna need a machine with mysql/PostgreSQL
an Ruby on Rails. Of course there have to be people willing to use
such a thing so the choice is Yours. Maybe You use some other workflow
or just consider it useless?
So what You say?

It's a great idea. We will certainly need a bug tracker sooner or later.
Redmine looks good - it might be what we settle on.

We have a server with SuSE Linux, so installing anything standard should
not be any trouble. We have a few PostgreSQL databases set up for the
wikis, so PostgreSQL is preferable.

The bug tracker will be indispensable when we have more software for
people to download. So we will revisit this topic after the holidays...
When we finally implement it, your help would be very valuable.
