Dear Open Baithak members,

The third Baithak happened end September, and a long silence ensued
from the organizers thereafter. Sincere apologies! I regret that we
have not managed to keep to our schedule. Certain unavoidable
circumstances have meant that I have to be away from Delhi for a
longish period, but I am trying to get the next Baithak going very
soon.

Meanwhile, I'm posting the link to a provocative article, "Is
Performance Poetry Dead?" (tip of the hat to Vivek Narayanan) for
discussion and debate on this group:

http://www.poetrysociety.org.uk/lib/tmp/cmsfiles/File/review/972Grabner.pdf

As performers and poets who are exploring performance, what do we make
of the points raised in this article? What's of value to us here in
Delhi/India? Or safely ignorable? Let's think about and through our
understandings of "poetry in performance" and "performance", and let's
talk!

Please don't hesitate to contact me with suggestions at
openb...@gmail.com.

Cheers!
Monica Mody
