Need help getting started

Hello, everyone!

I'm a newby programmer and I'm looking for some hands-on experience.

Knowying that, my boss gave me the task to create a Badge for completing a certain company course.

So, I was reading some OpenBadges Documentation trying to get some directions on where to get started and what to do as a first step. Now I know it is something related to JSON-LD files but I don't really know what to do about this information.

I know there are sites like badgr.io where I can issue badges in a simpler way, but I was looking forward to develop "my own" code, if it is possible. Just to get some experience, really (and do what my boss asked me to).

So if anyone could give me some directions on what to do as a first step, I would really appreciate it!
