I wonder if after that, everyone is ready to make more progress on Open
Aviation Maps? :)

Hi Ákos, it's been a nice summer indeed. I'm cheating a bit and
continuing it here down under in AUZ :)

I would like to do some work for OAM, but have to say I feel it's hard
to see what is most needed. We've had the
same thing for quite a long time, the Hungarian map that all honors
for go to you. That is really nice but the approach we
had at it doesn't scale very good. We need to write specific parsers
etc. for each eaip. Do you remember I mocked up a
very simple python-django app for creating a database of aviation
stuff. Do you think that idea has some traction or should
I focus my work elsewhere. Right now I feel that there's so much that
could be done it's very hard to know what to use time on.
Also, what would you like to work on?

I don't know for sure how much time I will have over the next 6 or 8
months but I certainly hope to be able to continue to contribute something.

I think the following is needed:

• easy data entry tools - basically a web-based tool which makes it easy to enter data, the thing you started earlier this year
• entering a lot of data for a lot of countries
  
• a nicer bitmap rendering than we have (maybe CartoCSS, maybe some other tool)
• a web-based visualization that is not bitmap-based, but where one can click on a feature and see more details (maybe related to the data entry web-based tool)
• similar for android / iOS
  

what do you think?
