Lubuntu Problem

My name is Khaliff.I'm a student from FH Regensburg,a university in
Germany.I'm doing a thesis this semester regarding the beagleboard -
"Controlling SPS through Beagleboard using Ubuntu as OS".I have tried
installing Ubuntu from every link that i found including from your
website.It's been two months now and i'm still unable to install
Ubuntu on my SD card.My main problem is mainly network connection.I
have tried installing the ones from your website -

LUBUNTU seems to be working quite well with my Beagleboard. The only
problem is that it can't detect any externel USB and i can't sudo-apt
get update.It seems like these 2 links that you wrote are not working
anymore:

deb http://192.168.10.101:3142/ubuntu-ports lucid main universe
multiverse deb http://192.168.10.101:3142/ubuntu-ports lucid-updates
main

It is really nice of you if you could help me solve my problem. I am
really in need of a well working ubuntu installer.Btw i'm using a Rev
C4 beagleboard.I'm looking forward for your reply.

Hi,

About your beagleboard not able to detect any external USB,
you can look up the output of dmesg command, and various system logs.

Perhaps your USB Ethernet not working properly? Or drivers/ kernel modules?

The apt-get sources you mensioned are with reference to an APT-CACHER server on the same net. If you're using internet for packages then you should have something like

deb http://us.archive.ubutu.com/ubuntu-ports lucid main universe multiverse
deb http://us.archive.ubutu.com/ubuntu-ports lucid-updates main universe multiverse

in your /etc/apt/sources.list file.

If you could post what your exact model of USB ethernet is and the exact nature of the problem it would hep much.

Remove those line :

deb http://192.168.10.101:3142/ubuntu-ports lucid main universe multiverse
deb http://192.168.10.101:3142/ubuntu-ports lucid-updates main

And replace with

deb http://us.archive.ubutu.com/ubuntu-ports lucid main universe multiverse

deb http://us.archive.ubutu.com/ubuntu-ports lucid-updates main universe multiverse

or

deb http://archive.ubutu.com/ubuntu-ports lucid main universe multiverse

deb http://archive.ubutu.com/ubuntu-ports lucid-updates main universe multiverse

Above lines are used for apt-cache server.
