Hello all,

Was looping with a Minimed Paradigm 522, Minilink (MMT-7003) Transmitter w/Enlite sensors, everything going fantastic until the Minilink Transmitter gave out. It was old, internal battery died. Currently working on taking old transmitter apart & replacing internal battery.

My insurance will replace transmitter, but Medtronic rep says Minilinks are back-ordered due to the Hurricane. Medtronic is trying to replace the Minilinks with new "Guardian" transmitters that can still use Enlite sensors but (apparently) operate at a different frequency and thus cannot work with any pump older than a 630g.

Can anyone confirm if this is accurate, i.e., that the Guardian Link Transmitters are not backward-compatible with the older Minimed pumps even though they can use Enlite sensors?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Joseph

i can confirm, that die Guardian transmitter is not compatible with minimed paradigm pumps.
I have a 640G with Guardian transmitter and a Veo 754. I had to buy an MiniLink transmitter for looping with the Veo 754.

That's a shame. Hope some of the other pumps can loop soon.

Thank you for your response.

You’ll need to buy direct from Medtronic. They’re very expensive.

Hi Joseph, I know this post was over a year old, but I just wanted to ask you:

Did you successfully replace the Enlite transmitter battery?

I'm contemplating trying that. (I've seen a youtube video of someone doing it.)

But what I'm wondering is, "What battery is it I need to get?"

Thanks.

Hi,

I've done it twice. It works very well.

I ordered the replacement batteries for the nike fuelband :

https://www.ebay.fr/itm/272211953080?ul_noapp=true (you need the small version in 22mAh).

I believe you can find equivalent here :

http://shop.repair-my-device.com/nike-fuelband-1-set-2-replacement-battery-22mah-36mah

I don't see them on ebay anymore but there are equivalents on alibaba.

Cheers,

PAtrick

that would help heaps.... tks a lot... suggestion: take video or pictures on the critical bits, they say a picture equals 1000 words...

To me, the most difficult currently is to find a reliable source of good battery replacement. Alibaba takes forever ... they tell you 4 weeks and its turns out to be 4 months. And with the virus, it's not gonna improve.

For the rest, try to open it without damaging the clipped cover. It has to remain as waterproof as possible. Use super thin tools, razor blades. If you damage the cover to much, you won't be able to use it.
Then remove the slime around the battery and mark the positive and negative side where the battery cables are soldered. Remove as much slime as possible but do not damage the pcb/board underneath.
Solder the new battery and place the battery inside. Check that you can place the cover on top. It not, remove more slime.
To improve the resistance to water, fill the transmitter with silicon before putting the cover. Warning : use neutral core silicon. Not the one that stinks. It would corrode your electrical components.
Then you can put some strong glue around the cover BUT it will make the next battery swap more difficult. I am still not sure what's the best way to do it

If I change one again, I ll make pictures and shoot a video.
