Retractionwatch data

Hi team,

We got a query today about retractions in OpenAlex. It seems the descriptive text at https://docs.openalex.org/api-entities/works/work-object#is_retracted is out of date, since Crossref has now acquired RetractionWatch. 

But does this also mean that data from retractionwatch is now automatically propagated to the is_retracted bool in OpenAlex?

Thank you for bringing this up, Tijmen! Yes, we have incorporated the public database from Retraction Watch, and we will be updating our data periodically to align with it. We had forgotten to update the documentation, but that's corrected now!

There may be a bit of a lag right now in ingesting updates from Retraction Watch, but we'll close that soon.
