Hi All,
This Wednesday we plan to make a change to the OpenAlex API where we will compress the results with something called gzip. Nearly all modern web browsers, API clients, and programming packages (such as python "requests") are designed to transparently handle this, so there should be no impact and you should see API results just like normal. But we want to let everybody know just in case. We will include the proper headers which will show the response is compressed.
The goal of this change is to decrease bandwidth which sometimes increases costs, as well as make the OpenAlex API even faster.
Thanks,
Casey
